Kiai Kai – Youth Ocean Stewardship Training

On a sunny day in early December 2018, the Foundation held its first Kiai Kai Training for 12 high school students from Kanuikapono Public Charter School. In this one day training session, led by Gregg Winston, students learned how all the skills associated with under water snorkeling.  The skills they learned are important features of water safety.  Gregg Winston, Master Diver & Trainer, has volunteered to provide more trainings for students who wish to be become proficient in diving.  Gregg hopes that he’ll be able to train students in the future to snorkel and dive to collect data to chart the well-being of our islands coral reef ecosystems.  The Foundation is happy to have Gregg as a instructor in Kiai Kai!
