Pohaku Madness…

Who let the “rocks” out? According to some residents in Hanalei, the rocks at Blackpot beach were placed there to prevent erosion. However, as it turns out, the rocks are having a negative impact on marine resources. Some experts believe the rocks actually contribute to an increased rate of erosion. Kanaka Maoli believe that pohaku have mana and things happen when the pohaku are not used in a pono manner. Time to question the people and/or entities who placed the pohaku there. Since they serve no practical purpose and the use of pohaku is culturally unclear, it better that the pohaku be returned to their original home.

Time to call in a kahu to pray over these pohaku!
