On Saturday June 8, 2019, the Foundation met with Native Fishermen to gather input to develop a traditional knowledge driven fishing monitoring protocol for the Native Fishing Grounds from Halelea to Puna Moku. In the aftermath of the April 2018 Floods, Hawaiians believe that we need to inventory and assess the well being of our marine resources. Having a physical presence along the coastline is important so Kanaka Maoli can help to improve the overall management of our marine resources. The Foundation looks forward to hosting more community meetings. We’ll keep everyone posted.
