Community instructors partnered with the Foundation in early July to host workshops in traditional knowledge fishing and learn the basics in voyaging. Fifteen students from a group called The Road Less Traveled out of Chicago, Illinois and their three advisors spent two afternoons with our community instructors learning the basics in island resource management. They participated in a community Hukilau, learned about fish migration patterns in HANALEI Bay, and spent time helping to repair one of our waa kaulua. We look forward to offering more classes in traditional knowledge.
