Pahono ‘ia ka waa…..repairing our mobile classrooms!
We are so grateful to the First Nations Development Institute for funding to repair our canoes. Ka’imi and Kapana started the repairs in July 2019. They have been holding monthly work days to repair our waa kaulua since then. Mahalo, Ka’imi and Kapana for leading the repair efforts!
International Ocean Observation Conference
Kamealoha and Kaimi represented the island of Kauai at Ocean Observation Conference in Honolulu in September 2019. 51 Pacific Rim Native Groups were invited to work with their western counterparts to discuss improving the overall management of ocean resources through sharing ocean observing systems, advocacy, funding, and best practices.
