August – Māhoe Mua/Hinaiaʻeleʻele

In August, the weather often alternates between rainy and sunny. In this month, the Leo constellation becomes visible and it is popular for fishermen to go fishing with nets and poles for halalu (Bigeye Scad), moi li’i (Pacific threadfin), and ‘oama (yellowstripe goatfish). August is also a good month for catching he’e (octopus) with lures like the one pictured below.
